Dallas TX – Fans packed the Dos Equis pavilion Saturday for heavy metal mayhem from the Knotfest roadshow featuring Slipknot. The full evening of fun started early with one of three opening acts taking the stage at 5:30PM. Behemoth followed by Gojira and Volbeat got the madness flowing well before Slipknot took the stage. With three opening acts and a long evening of music, there is a reason why they call it Knotfest.

Headliner Slipknot hit the stage fast and hard Saturday evening with an over the top response from the crowd. Almost immediately the front standing room only pit turned into a raging mosh pit with some participants being hoisted over the security barricade. Masked frontman Corey Taylor smiles through his mask with his arms in the air welcoming the craze of metal mania.

The stage setup for Slipknot was absolutely over the top. Dual raised drum kits with keg drums and LED lights towered over the audience. Massive video screens mounted over and within the stage played electrifying visuals pertaining to the music. Billows of smoke permeated the front rows as the masked men of Slipknot entertained the gathering.

On this tour, Slipknot is celebrating their sixth studio album titled We Are Not Your Kind. It has been several years since their last studio album .5: The Gray Chapter of 2014. Additionally, Slipknot has not toured since 2016 in North America making this evening a night of anticipation for many hardcore Slipknot fans.

Masked lead sing Corey Taylor addressed the crowd Saturday reminding them that Slipknot has now been around for 20 plus years. Asking those who have not been to a show before where the @%$# have you been.

Slipknot played for almost two hours Saturday while blasting out 17 songs including two encore hits. With heavy wardrobes and mask Slipknot put every ounce of blood and sweat into the show. They may not be your kind but those at Dos Equis pavilion Saturday thought otherwise.
