Fort Worth Alliance Airport – The Fort Worth Alliance airshow took place October 15th-16th on one of the first fall-like days of the year. Plenty of sunshine and a nice breeze made for a great day for those attending the annual air show, sponsored by Bell Helicopter.
Visitors were able to enjoy static aircraft from all generations parked throughout the tarmac, allowing them to touch and tour the aircraft. There was also an abundance of bounce house playgrounds for the little ones and souvenirs galore to make it a fun and memorable day for families.
Highlights of the day included newlyweds Ashley and Greg Shelton performing their wing walker exhibition. There were also many other aircraft like Dave Martin and his Breitling stunt aircraft and The Sasquatch jet propelled and prop stunt plane. However, the highlights of the day were The F/18 Super
Hornet TAC Team and the always popular U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds .
One of the non-flying attractions that captivated the attention of spectators was the Shockwave jet-powered semi. Featuring 36,000 horsepower and reaching speeds of 300 mph, it was a spectacle of fire, smoke, and speed, even beating out one of the aircraft in a drag down the runway. The action was non-stop throughout the day with one lift off immediately after the other. Aircraft enthusiast surely enjoyed the cooler temperatures and nice breeze Saturday and Sunday.
