Ennis, TX – Dallas Motorsport fans enjoyed fast cars and family fun with NHRA at the Texas Motorplex. With one of the best drag racing tracks in North America, the Motorplex brings high speeds and high thrills. Fans of all ages came out to see alcohol and nitro drag racing during the NHRA Fall Nationals in Ennis.
Race fans filled the grandstands at the Texas Motorplex Friday, Saturday and Sunday, dodging periodic moments of light rain. Built in 1986, the Texas Motorplex was the first all concrete stadium style motorsport venue ever built. Of course, others have followed since then; however, the Texas Motorplex holds many records in NHRA.
The best thing about NHRA racing is that fans can rub elbows with NHRA drivers and crews. With an open pit area, fans can watch crew members tune and rebuild engines for their next race. While the pit crew is visibly working you can almost always catch a driver signing autographs and chatting with fans.
NHRA drivers aren’t necessarily all male drivers either. The current NHRA field consists of several female drivers who not only compete, but rank top in their class of racing. With speeds exceeding 300+ mph in just a quarter mile, the NHRA experience is something to see, feel and smell.
