Lewisville, Texas – The Eli Young Band brought it all back to Lewisville Friday night.  The band headlined the annual Western Days Festival in old downtown Lewisville.  Hailing from the North Texas area, the hometown band brought it back to the metroplex.  The band launched their career after meeting at the University of North Texas.

Between songs, singer Mike Eli talked about his first job working in Lewisville at the Bealls department store.  He reminisced about how much he loved Lewisville but not that old job. Since forming back in 2002 and hitting the Texas music scene, things have really changed for the band. Now a national act, the Eli Young Band had it’s first big hit “Crazy Girl”.  The song won the Academy of Country Music Song of the Year in 2011.  With over 24 million views on Youtube alone, that song catapulted their career to where it is today.

The festival was all but cleared except for the stage area when the band played Friday. Fans and friends came out in force to see the free hometown show.  Currently, the band is on the road touring this fall and have a new release “Saltwater Gospel”.
